About
San Luis Obispo County YMCA Youth Programs and Camps are part of a family-friendly fitness center that offers programs and classes for all ages and sports programs. These youth programs and camps take place within a larger YMCA setting that includes fitness and sports programs for children and families.
• Ages: 5–13 years old
• Schedule: Winter programs and leagues run from 1/4/26 to 4/5/26, and spring programs and leagues run from 4/6/26 to 6/7/26. Branch hours are Monday–Thursday 5:30am–9pm, Friday 5:30am–7pm, Saturday 7am–5pm, and Sunday closed.
The San Luis Obispo County YMCA was formed in 1956 by a group of volunteers who saw a need for childcare and family programs in the county. It is the county’s largest provider of before and after school care, pre-school, and summer camps. A volunteer Board of Directors oversees governance of the association. The YMCA is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit social services organization dedicated to Youth Development, Healthy Living, and Social Responsibility.
Through childcare programs, Healthy Eating and Physical Activity (HEPA) Curriculum, service learning projects, fitness and sports programs, and a financial assistance program, the organization is working to develop youth, improve health, and better the community. The Y offers a financial assistance program and does not turn anyone away due to inability to pay. Sports programs at the Y develop teamwork, improve confidence, and encourage healthy lifestyles.
